Artistic Expression using Universal Concepts & Collaboration
A series of 5 collaborations between various artists, produced and filmed in Malta, promoted to various countries of the artist’s origin and genre.
Artistic Expression using Universal Concepts & Collaboration
“The project consists of a series of five collaborative productions between several artists across a variety of genres, creating a fusion of styles and nurturing experimentation between artists of various cultural sectors. It intends to engage new audiences with an innovative concept that bridges barriers between artists through universal concepts. The project will enable several artists to collaborate and experiment, thus promoting a sense of community and diversity within the platform. A combination of reggae and afrobeat artists such as 'Forty Two Ways' and 'Godloves' from South Sudan and Cameroon in Africa will be paired with local hip hop artists 'Kodin Hill' and local singer 'Ivie Skies' to create a fusion production of Reggae, R n B and Rap which focuses on creating positive energy and leaving an impact in the world.”

The concept was inspired by uniting various artists from 5 different countries in Africa, each country is represented with the ‘beat’ change in the tracks, each artist having a verse inspired by elements from their culture with the instrumental representing that change, with tempo changes, rhythmic and chord changes. Personally, as a producer, this would be one of my largest ever projects, a first attempt at creating a medley combining various sounds and styles of afrobeat.
The production was produced by taking an influence from each of the various countries of the artist's origin and creating a section in the instrumental representative of that music culture. You will note various sections forming around 5 different songs coming together in this afrobeat medley.
Large credit goes to the production team from AISO Records also which assisted in the creation of the instrumentals. William Ayi, being a producer with a specific style representing Ivory Coast co-produced his own section within the beat, along with Clayton Gauci having performed within the track guitar melodies that aided the song in blossoming to what it currently is.
The process of writing the song happened very smoothly and the concept came about organically, a conversation happened between the artists have all had similar experiences facing struggles in their home countries, and the concept of the song was easily formed through the shared experiences faced by the artists and the continuous concern for their home country, the political situations, and various cultural differences and civil crisis.
Lyrically the songs speak about uniting the various countries within Africa, praising the good whilst acknowledging the challenges faced. ‘Africa Unite’ is a cry for unity within the African community. The phrase commonly repeated throughout the chorus is “Uwumyeye Bakun” meaning “Let Us Be One”.
